Congress spent 820 crores in elections

The Times of India reports that the Congress had spent Rs 820 crore for campaigning in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and assembly elections in Arunachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha and Sikkim.

While the party spent Rs 516 crore for campaigning in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

This information has been given by the Congress on 31 October in the details of election expenses with the Election Commission.

It has been told that the party has spent 626.3 crores on the party's campaign and Rs 193.9 crores on the candidates.

The newspaper wrote that in May, the then social media head of the Congress party, Divya Spandan, said, "We have no money."
